A rich man was very worried about his lazy and slow son. The businessman wanted him to know the importance of hard work so that he understands that this lavish living and money does not come by itself, rather one has to work hard to earn it. He wanted his son to spend his life as a responsible young man and that he helps him in his business. One day the businessman said to his son, “Son! Today you will have to bring money after working as labourer and remember! If you don’t, you will not be given dinner”. The boy was stunned on his father’s command because he had no intention to do any kind of work. Such a demand from his father had scared him. He went his mother, crying. On seeing her son crying, her heart melted and she gave him a gold coin instantly. When the father asked his son about his earning in the evening, the son took out the gold coin from his pocked and showed it to the father instantly. The businessman saw the coin and said to his son, “go and throw it in a well”
The son obeyed his father and threw the coin in the well. Father was very intelligent, wise and experienced. He guessed that the coin must have been given by his mother therefore the businessman sent his wife to another town the next day and warned his son again that if he did not earn anything today, he will not be given food. This time the boy went to his sister, crying so that he could have her sympathy. On seeing her brother crying, the sister’s heart melted and she gave him some money at once. The son went at once and threw the money in the well. The businessman, with is intellect, guessed that this time the source of money must have been his sister. Now the businessman sent his daughter to her in laws and expressed anger to his son and said, “If you do not earn money today, remember, your pocket money and eateries shall be halted”
Now he got worried because there was no one to help him. Therefore he decided that he will have to search for some job. He reached the market and asked many shopkeepers to give him some job, at last a shopkeeper told him, “If he takes the box to his home, he shall give him 2 rupees for it”.
The boy agreed at once. On taking the box to the shopkeeper’s home, his condition deteriorated. He was sweating heavily; his legs were trembling after the chore and there was severe pain in the neck and back and there were bruises on his back because of carrying weight.
When he reached home, he found his father waiting. On seeing money, the father said, “Go throw them in the well”. The thought of throwing this money in the well was enough to scare the boy and he started crying. He could not even think of throwing this hard earned money in a well. While crying, he said, “Dear father! My body is aching, my back is bruised, neck has stiffened and you are asking me to throw this money in a well? The businessman smiled on listening and said, “Son, when someone’s hard earned money is being wasted in foolish things, it hurts that person deeply. Before this, your mother and sister helped you on 2 occasions therefore it did not hurt you when you threw that money in the well. But now you understand the value of hard work. Now you know how much effort is required for a few rupees”. That day the young man promised his father that he will work hard instead of being lazy and will help his father in business.
Outcome of lying (Ahmer Jutt)
An astrologer lived in a country. He was wicked and a big liar but people believed in him so much that whatever he said would happen. The king of this country called the astrologer in his court. The king said to the astrologer, “Mr. astrologer, tell something about me to today”. After listening to this, the astrologer did his calculation s for some time then said, “sire, this year shall prove to be a curse for you, it is possible that that you may die this year”.
The king got very anxious after hearing this. On seeing the king worried, the minister got furious on the astrologer. Minister asked the astrologer to repeat the calculations, he said the same thing. Now the king was sure of his death and his face grew pale. On seeing this condition of the king, the minister pondered.
At last he said to the king,” there is no need to worry, this astrologer is a liar and I will prove it a lie right now”.
Therefore the minister said,:” you said about the king, tell something about yourself, how long shall you stay alive?” The astrologer thought about it for some time and then said, “I shall stay alive for 30 more years”.
On listening to it, the minister called the executioner and said, “Cut off the head of this astrologer”. The execution cut off the head of that astrologer in a single strike. The astrologer’s dead body was in front of the king. The minister said to the king, “Sire look! He was saying that he will remain alive for 30 years more but he has been killed in front of you, the person who cannot tell about his own death correctly, how can he tell anything about anyone”.
The king became peaceful and his countrymen were also happy after astrologer’s murder as a liar got what he deserved. The king stayed alive for many years after this incidence.
Moral: going to astrologers and showing them hands is a sin, no one knows the hidden besides Allah and neither can anyone decide about anyone’s life or death.
