Sawera was married in a middle class family. She got 50 acres in dowry. Nabeel ahmad was a clerk in governmental institution. Sawera was proud of her land. She hired a maid. Maid used to serve breakfast to nabeel in the morning. Often he left while having a glass of milk. And sawera used to say goodbye to her husband lying in the bed. If he asked for food or water, maid used to provide it. Wise women always count on themselves when it comes for serving their husbands, even if they have a lot of workers around at home. Washing his clothes, serving him food, taking care of his comforts, they do all of it by themselves. A woman can win his tough husband by this too. Sawera use to spend her daytime dealing with the accounts of her land.
Once I had a chance of spending time at her home. I dissuaded her that it doesn’t matters if wife is governor’s daughter or a PHD scholar, if she wants to have a home she must know that the way to the man’s heart is through his stomach. If husband will get used to of a servant then what are you important for? Why then you marry if this all is supposed to happen?
Sawera replied me instantly, I am running this house. Where will he go then! I became quiet. Time passed by. Sawera became a mother of two children. She became rude and always stayed bad-tempered. Nabeel gave exams and thus became the manager of that organization. One day when I went to her house, her maid told me that Sawera is vacationing in Narran Kaghan (Northern Areas of Pakistan) with her brother and sister in law. And she has left me for serving food to her husband.
Afterwards I had no contact with her since two years. One day when I was at a nearby school to meet one of my friends, she met me in a terrible condition. She cried and said you were right not to make husband used to maids. Nabeel married that maid as she served him a lot. So much that now he felt incomplete without her. I came back to my home and there my brothers deceived me and hacked the land once I had.
Alas! I wish I would have never thought of that this all income is of my own. You were right! Give such comfort and serve your husband like a way that he could never imagine of living without you. Every mother should educate her daughter before letting her married.
Snake Became Lethargic At The Sound of Clap
[Pervaiz Hussain Awan; Faisalabad]
Respected hakeem sahab, Asalamoalaikum! My father was a guard in railway police. My father’s exorcism of snake and teeth was so popular that people come and visit him from neighboring village and used to call him shah gee. He used to nail the teeth exorcism into the tree. He uses to do Snake exorcism with green branches and use to provide herbal medicines to people. And it was all for free. I think he was fond of giving medicines. Almost all patients recovered. And he use to offer tea too. He died at the age of 75 in year 1989. There is an incident connected to my father. There was a large snake bothering the landlords in the village by showing itself on the road. People were very scared of it. Because my father was famous for exorcism of snakes, one day my father found that snake on the road. My father encircled around himself and recited for performing exorcism and clapped at snake, the snake turned itself other way. He repeated this all second time, and snake did the same. When father repeated this the third time he noticed that the snake became unconscious and fell down. Father never killed snake on his own. He called his elder brother, who got aware that “Shah Jee” got a snake. He came and killed it. And thus this incident became popular in village.
