Summers arrived! Bringing milk, yogurt and lassi for breakfast

Ubqari Magazine - April 2017

From the month of April, summers begin in our beloved country Pakistan. The chill in the air begins to end and instead the wind becomes far warmer. This makes the air light so that it rises to the top and less warm air starts to take its place below it. Because of this cycle of wind, the impurities in the wind lessen.

Because of the warmth of the sun, not only does our skin become warmer but also the temperature of our internal organs rises by approximately 1 F. Our thirst increases since sweat comprising of salt and water increases. Increased intake of salty diet is discouraged. The stomach also loses some of its power and excessive meat in the diet is detrimental. The milk of cows and goats is far better in summers as compared to the milk of buffaloes. Exercise increases the heat in the body so it should done in the early morning when the temperature is lower. Bathing two or three times is also beneficial so that the pores of the skin open up and the person feels fresh.

In summers, one should begin the day with some chilled beverage like sherbet of any kind. For breakfast, fish, meat and eggs should be replaced with milk, yogurt, butter, and lassi. For the afternoon and evening meals, it's better to include green vegetables and pulses in your diet. With the meal, take chutney of coriander or some form of a salad. Soda water, tea, and coffee or any warm beverage should be avoided too. While travelling, standing or working in sun, take necessary precautions. Wear a jute hat or any hat for protection in the sun. Otherwise, illnesses such as fever, headache, flu cough and heatstroke could come up. Also, after coming from the sun outside, sitting under the fan or air conditioning is not advised and is strictly discouraged.

Headache because of Sunstroke:

In a very hot weather, because of a sun stroke, a severe headache could come up and would cause a problem. In this condition, water with some salt should be used. Staying in the shade and colder environment is better for such a patient. Roaming about in the sun, causes the patient to become lethargic and tired. Symptoms of this condition include tension, tiredness, headache and laziness among other things.

In this weather, wear cotton clothes and do not go for completely thin clothes nor for silk material.

After 15 of the April, while sleeping outside, use a mosquito net or any medication for protective measures.

Some precautionary measures for the summer weather:

1.      Avoid too much exposure in the sun.

2.      To make the body get used to a temperature change, gradually increase the duration of the stay.

3.      Avoid coffee and hot beverages.

4.      Don't let kids walk around barefoot.

5.      The effects of sunstroke are most felt by those who travel via motorcycle hence tying a scarf would be helpful.

6.      Reduce the intake of meat, oily foods and warm vegetables.

7.      Intake of water melon, falsay, and aalo bahara should be increased, along with beverages such as lassi and sherbet.

Do the following and nothing would bother you

Honorable Hakeem Sahab, Assalam o Alaikum! May Allah bless you, your family, readers of Ubqari and listeners of the Ubqari Dars with all the goodness and blessings till eternity. Alhumdulilah with the blessings of Dars, I have started fasting for the days of the month of Baydh. Also I have started to maintain five time prayer as well. Also after Witr, I also prostrate and recite سُبُّوْحٌ قُدُّوْسٌ  رَبُّ الْمَلَائِکَۃِ وَالرُّوْحِ five times followed by Tauz, Tasmiyya and Ayat-ul-Kursi. I am also presenting a spiritual tip for the readers and that is to recite Surah Ikhlas,Falaq and Nas three times each after Fajr and Maghrib prayer. This would protect you from any worry from the morning till evening and from evening till morning. Anwar Munir.

A cure for Sugar, from Arab:

Honorable Hakeem Sahab, Assalamoaliakum. I am an avid reader of Ubqari magazine. I am sending a cure for Sugar and this cure originates from Saudia and as I have been using it myself, it also tested.

ھو الشافی:

Take black jo 1 quarter kilo.

Black chickpeas, boiled and peeled off 1 quarter kilo.

Irani Almonds 1 quarter kilo.

Mash all these things together and take this one tablespoon in the morning and evening after meal. This would help in controlling Sugar.

Looking forward to your prayers-Safia Zahid, Karachi.
