The Muslim Whose Goodness Is Testified By Two Persons Is Destined To Paradise

Ubqari Magazine - September 2016

It is mentioned in Musnad Al-Ahmed from the authority of Hazrat Abu Al-Aswad that he came to Medina when there was an epidemic there and the people were dying in scores. I was sitting beside Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) that we saw a funeral and the people were talking good about the deceased. He (May Allah be pleased with him) said, ‘Confirmed for him.’ In the meanwhile we saw another funeral but the people were talking bad about the deceased. Then he (May Allah be pleased with him) repeated, ‘Confirmed for him’. I asked, O’ Commander of the faithful, what was confirmed? He replied, I said the same what Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) had said that a Muslim whose nobleness is testified by four persons is authorised to enter into paradise. We asked what if there were three (people testified)? He (peace be upon him) said three too. Then we asked what if just two persons testify so?, he (Peace be upon him) replied two as well. Then we did not ask for a single person

In another tradition from Ibn Murdaviyah that Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) said, ‘Soon you will be able to distinguish between good and bad amongst you. The people asked, how would that be possible? He (Peace be upon him) said through testifying about goodness or badness as you are testifier for Allah on earth. (Tafsir Ibn-e Kathir/220)

Allah is more beneficent to his slaves than a mother to its baby

There is a sahih hadith that the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) saw a woman prisoner who was searching for his missing child vehemently and when she could not find him she would hug every other child to express her love for her lost child. This continued until she found her own lost baby she was so happy that she forgot the grief that she had before and hugged him and suckled him. Upon seeing this the Holy Messenger (Peace be upon him) said to his companions: Can you imagine that this mother can throw her baby into the fire? The companions said, Never. The beloved mesessnger (Peace be upon him) then said. By Allah, the immense love that this mother has for her child is far less than what Allah has for the believers.(Tafsir Ibn-e-Kathir/221)
