Every month, the famous classical book ‘Kashf-ul-Mahjoob’ is read by Hakeem SahabMadzala. Huge numbers of listeners attend this gathering of around 2 hours. The synopsis is presented here.

Knowledge is of 2 types. One is ‘Vocational knowledge’ & the other is ‘Gifted Understanding’ (bestowed by the Almighty upon His selected servants). As it is mentioned in Surah Ash-Shura; 13:

اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِى إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ

Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance.

This means, He is the One Who decrees guidance for those who deserve it, and decrees misguidance for those who prefer it to the right path. Allah’s choice can never be wrong. His criteria is not name, caste, nation or area; it is just the Rab’s eye of love & that gaze can fall on anyone at any time. Let me share such incidences of selection and choice: Sheikh Abu-ul-Khwas RA was a very young person of his time. Great scholars of his time were much elder to him. It is written in Islamic books that the marvels, blessings & fame which came in this young man’s fate were not acquired by anyone else of his time. Abdul RahmanFarog RA was a great Muhaddis (Master in the science of hadith). He gave 30,000 gold coins to his pregnant wife and left for the propagation of religion and this separation spread over a long period of 27 years. He dint took any news of his house throughout. After 27 years, he knocked his home at night. His wife recognized him that he is my long-gone husband. When he went to Masjid-e-Nabwi for Salat-ul-Fajr, he saw a circle around a young man where knowledge-lovers like Hazrat Hassan Basri RA & Imam Malik RA were present in need. Afterwards, he got to know through his wife that the learned teacher is your son and the 30,000 gold coins you gave me while leaving were spent on his education.
Sheikh Muhammad Baghdadi RA was a great Muhaddis. He was sahib-e-kamal. At 8 years of age his mother told him his father’s wish of him becoming the best Aalim-e-Deen. Caravans from our area are leaving for Baghdad. You also go with them. (To be continued...)
