I have a relative who is 45 years old. She is not married. I told her that she should pray for repentance. When her parents died she was eldest in the family. First she got her younger siblings married and was left alone.
On my suggestion she prayed for repentance. Believe me that she found such a nice spouse that is beyond imagination. He prays tahajjud and is one year older than her. He was married before and his wife had died. He did not have any children. He had a beautiful house. Only due to the blessings of repentance, now the same woman was unable to bear a child. I suggested to her to pray for repentance. She did it and became pregnant, but she left raying for repentance. I said to her that you got married in this age and you go pregnant, you should not tell the people. But she did not act upon my advice and due to some evil eye she had a miscarriage, because she had stopped reciting. She had completely abandoned reciting the prayer of repentance. She also agreed to the fact that she had stopped reciting. I said to her that it was bad that she had stopped reciting the prayer of repentance, if she had kept doing it, then this blessing would have continued to stay with her.

Thank Allah in Your Own Language

Allah, the pure, says that when I give you a certain blessing, if you keep on thanking me for it, it will never decrease. I recite  الحمدللہ رب العالمین for every blessing without counting.I have tested that on which blessing I have thanked Allah, it has never decreased. And on which I have not thanked Allah that vanished. On the blessings on which I am cordially happy and thankful but did not thank by tongue, also vanished. I said to my sister that since she did not thank Allah for the blessings that is why the blessings vanished.

The procedure for thanking Allah is that the whole day without counting one should recite الحمدللہ رب العالمین <Alhamdolillah-rabbil-aalaameen><All praise be to Allah, the lord of the universe>. Other than this, thank Allah in your own language. That O’ Allah I did not deserve the blessings that you have bestowed upon me. Allah, I am thankful to you. The words of Arabic are uttered by you from your tongue but not through your heart. I don’t know why I have this belief that I act upon the verses of Arabic only due to the hadith. I get real peace of heart when I ask to Allah in my own language,

A Small Desire of Mine Was Fulfilled by a Small Deed

.After coming to Lahore I had a small desire that I and my daughter should study in Convent school and my son should go to the Aitchison College. I could get references from the whole world but my husband was against it. All praise is to Allah, He fulfilled this desire of mine only due to thankfulness. When I stand in this school, when I go to take my children, I thank Allah, that Allah, I am thankful to you that you have fulfilled this small worldly desire of mine in a nice way.

Believe me; my children do not have problems there, even though the other children take tuitions. My children do not have any tuition and they are the best achievers.

The parents of those who study with my children ask me to spare a day for their children as a guide. When i got married, our relatives used to say that we will not get along well with each other. Because my husband is a little bit strict by nature. Believe me, I have only prayed to Allah. And now whenever I pray I recite one tasbeeh of thankfulness. O’ Allah make this man good for me. The reason for my children’s intelligence is also thankfulness.

I Thank Allah With These Words

 الحمدللہ رب العالمین <Alhamdolillah-e-rabbil-aalameen><All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the universe> and I have this in heart that O’ Allah make this man better for me. Hakeem sahib, I definitely pray two nawaafil of thankfulness every day.

I thank Allah for my husband, for my children, for my servants, that He gave me pious servants. My servants are with me for the last nine years. Other than this I pray two nawaafil for repentance. That O’ Allah the mistakes I have made today, please forgive those. I recite two nawaafil for my needs. And I pray to Allah to fulfill all my needs. Hakeem sahib; by adopting these small things I have given up all other wazaaif.

Repentance, thankfulness, four Quls before going to bed, Aayat-ul-kursi, the prayer of Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and لقد جاء کم <Laqad-Jaa-akum...>. (The last two verses of Surah Tauba). I used to recite the two priceless treasures before but now I only recite the last two verses of Surah Tauba after the fajar prayer. I have seen a lot of blessings of these for myself which are listed below:

The blessings I have seen of them are that Allah is taking me to betterment Himself. The virtuous paths are opening for me. Believe me! A friend of my elder brother was so oriented towards worldly life. One day he said to me that since I am a Hafiz-e-Quran, I should tell her something to recite. I said, “Brother whatever I shall suggest for reciting, you will have to do it”. He said that he will read it. I said, “for one thing, you should not leave these six nawaafil”. He asked, “Which six nawaafil?” I said, “Two of thankfulness, two of repentance and two of needs”. I also told him to pray them whenever he found time. He agreed. Then I told him to always recite the last two verses of Surah Taubah as well. Seven times each in the mornings and in the evenings. Believe me! He rang me a month ago and told me that he only prayed the six nawaafil that I had told him about. He told that his company was downsizing and he instead got a salary promotion from four lakhs to seven lakhs at once. There is one thing that we value the deeds according to our worldly life and desires, this is our mistake.

1.10 My Allah is so Merciful

I am a mother and when I see that Allah loves his people more than seventy mothers then I think that I am so kindhearted towards my children, how merciful is my Allah. Hakeem sahib, yesterday I scolded my youngest daughter very severely. She stood up and started saying, “Mother, I am sorry”. I said, “What do you mean by sorry?” I said, “I asked you to do something and you did not do it, get lost!” She stood there. The second time she said,”Ami, I am sorry.” believe me, when she said it for the third time my heart molded. I held her and kissed her on her face. I felt so much pride in her that she had valued my dignity so much. She begged forgiveness from me. And there are we, that we ask for forgiveness from Allah once and when we are not heard we don’t ask for it for the second time. Rather we become unhappy with Allah. This girl has given me such a big lesson that you should remain steadfast in front of Allah. I feel so much love for my daughter since yesterday. My daughter is in the eighth grade. I said to her that I had scolded her so severely, why did she not go? She said,”Ami if I had left at once, your anger would not have subsided. I thought that mother would scold for three or four times and I would keep standing”. You learn from these small things and attitudes.

And about thankfulness is that whenever I got a small blessing such as a mobile phone, I thank Allah in my heart for ten times. If any of my servants is good and I get good food cooked, I thank Allah for that.
