Two Fried Fish and Salah

Ubqari Magazine - November 2019

Sareeh ibn Younas says that once I was going to pray the Friday Salah, I saw 2 fried fish in a shop. Seeing them made me think of buying it for my children but I didn’t do anything. I want straight to pray. I had just reached home after praying that someone knocked my door. I opened the door to see a man, he had a tray on his head which contained, fried fish, vinegar and some ripe dates. He gave the tray and said O Abul Haris take this and eat with your children. Abdullah bin Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal says that he has heard Sareeh ibn Younas saying that I saw Almighty Allah in my dream. The Almighty asked me to tell my need to Him. I replied Oh my Lord! Head to Head. In the history of Ibn Khalqan it is mentioned that Sareeh ibn Younas was the grandfather of Abu al Abbas Imam Al Fuqahaa.

Allah and Muhammad written clearly on fish’s gill

Allama Qazwaini has written in “strange creatures” that Abdur Rehman bin Haroon has said – I once got on a boat in the western sea. There was a boy with us who was a resident of Saqeela. He had a fishing rope and a fishing hook, when our boat reached the point of Bartoon he threw his fishing rope in the water. A hand span length fish caught up in his net. The boy took it out, when we were about to see the fish we noticed that on the fish’s right gill on the top the Kalima Tayyiba was written and on the bottom Muhammad (). On the left gill of the fish Messenger of Allah was written.

A disbeliever used to say his God’s name, threw the fishing net, and the net would be filled with fish

Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal has quoted from Nauf Bakali in his book Al- Zuhd, that two people a believer and a disbeliever went together for fishing. Both the believer and the disbeliever said the names of their God and threw the fishing nets into the water. How many ever times the disbeliever pulled his net it would be filled with fish and when the believer pulled his net it would be empty.
